1. How will my accommodation be?

You have two options for room and board during your 6 week stay with us:

Single Room
Double Room

Both of these choices will include air-conditioning, bathroom with showers,refrigerator, phone, closet, t.v., your own beds and writing desks.

2. Can I stay longer than 6 weeks?

Students will be able to stay up to 8 weeks, and then depending on special arrangenments students with encAbroad students may be able to stay longer than 8 weeks.

3. Are there ATM’s in Beijing?

In Bejing and most of the big cities around China, ATMs are readily available in most places. For further questions, regarding your banking in China, ask your private bank.

4. Does encAbroad require previous Chinese language knowledge?

No. encAbroad is designed for students who are just beginning or already have some experience of learning Chinese.

5. My GPA is lower than 2.0, is there no hope for me?

If you feel for some reason your GPA does not account for your interest in learning Chinese language or Chinese, please explain your situation in the preliminary application in the space provided.

6. What do I need to bring while I am in China?

encAbroad encourage their students to travel lightly. Some of the items that encAbroad recommends their students to bring are a copy of your passport and any other documentation in the case they are lost.

While in summer it’s hot, bringing a jacket and long pants for the trip to Inner Mongolia is strongly advisable. The temperature in Inner Mongolia is a lot cooler than in Beijing, especially night as the temperature drastically drops.

7. Is there an internet access in my dorm?

In addition to several internet cafes, outside and inside the campus, students will also have access to internet in their own rooms.

8. Is there any vaccination required, before joining encAbroad?

No. However, it’s advisable to consult your doctor for any recommendations that he or she might have for your personal case.

9. Are there a sport facilities available?

Students will have access to a new basketball court, running track, soccer field, and also a newly opened gym.

10. What kind of food is available inside the campus?

In addition to being able to cook in the common kitchen, encAbroad students will have access to several restaurants and cafes. These include Chinese food, western cuisine, fast food, and Islamic cuisine.
